Paintless Dent Repair (PDR)

Dents gone. Factory paint untouched.

Paintless dent repair is the fastest, least invasive way to remove dents that haven't cracked the paint — door dings, hail damage, and small collision dents. Airpark Auto Collision's technicians use specialized tools to massage the metal back to its original shape from behind the panel, so there's no filler, no repaint, and no disruption to your factory finish.

How PDR actually works

Using a combination of metal rods, picks, and glue-pulling tabs, our technicians access the backside of the dented panel — through existing openings where possible — and push, tap, or pull the metal back to its original contour. Because the paint's elasticity was never exceeded, there's no cracking, no filler, and no clear coat to blend. It's slower and more skilled work than body filler, but the result is invisible and the paint is 100% original.

When PDR works — and when it doesn't

PDR is ideal for shallow-to-medium dents where the paint surface is intact: door dings, hail damage, shopping cart dents, and minor bumper and fender dents. It's not the right tool when the paint has cracked, the metal has stretched or torn, the dent sits directly on a sharp body crease, or previous filler work is already present. During your free estimate we'll tell you honestly whether PDR is a fit or whether traditional bodywork and paint will do a better job.

PDR vs. traditional dent repair: cost and time

A single PDR repair typically runs $75–$150 per dent, or a flat rate for multi-dent hail jobs, and finishes same-day to two days. Traditional dent repair — filler, sanding, primer, paint, clear coat, bake, polish — runs $300–$900 per panel and takes 2–5 days because of paint cure time. PDR is faster and cheaper whenever it's a fit, which is why we always check first before quoting a full repaint.

Warranty and what's included

Every PDR job includes a full inspection under LED lighting to catch dents you might not see in normal light, a written quote before we start, and a workmanship warranty. If a dent can't be fully removed with PDR alone — occasionally the case with very sharp creases — we'll tell you before charging you and offer the traditional repair option at a fair price.

Frequently asked questions

What is paintless dent repair?

PDR is a technique for removing dents by accessing the back of the panel and massaging the metal back to its original shape — without filler, sanding, or repainting. It only works when the paint surface hasn't cracked.

How much does paintless dent repair cost?

Most single dents run $75–$150. Multi-dent hail damage is usually quoted as a flat rate based on total dent count and panel coverage, often $300–$1,500 for a full vehicle. We give a free written quote before starting.

Can every dent be fixed with PDR?

No. PDR works best on shallow-to-medium dents where the paint is intact. Dents with cracked paint, torn metal, or that sit right on a sharp body crease usually need traditional bodywork and paint instead. We'll tell you which applies during your free estimate.

Does PDR affect my car's resale value?

It helps preserve it. Because the factory paint is never disturbed, there's no repaint history to show up on a paint-thickness gauge inspection or vehicle history report — which matters to used-car buyers and appraisers.

Is PDR good for hail damage?

Yes — PDR is the preferred method for most hail damage because hail dents are typically shallow and don't crack paint. We quote hail jobs as a flat rate based on the number and size of dents.

How long does PDR take?

A single dent often takes 30–90 minutes. A full hail-damage vehicle with dozens of dents can take 1–3 days depending on severity and panel count. We give you a written timeline with your estimate.
