Auto Glass Replacement

Windshields, side glass, and the calibration that goes with them.

A cracked or pitted windshield isn't just a visibility problem — on most modern vehicles it also houses the camera that powers lane keep assist and forward collision warning. Airpark Auto Collision replaces windshields, side glass, and rear glass with OEM or OEM-equivalent glass, and — critically — performs the ADAS camera recalibration that manufacturers require afterward, all in one visit.

Windshield replacement done to OEM spec

We remove the damaged windshield, prep the pinch weld, and set the new glass using OEM-spec urethane adhesive with the correct safe-drive-away time — the amount of time the adhesive needs to cure before the windshield is safety-rated to stay in place during a crash. Cutting corners on cure time is a common shortcut at discount glass shops; we don't take it.

Why ADAS recalibration is part of the job, not an upsell

If your vehicle has lane keep assist, forward collision warning, or automatic emergency braking, the forward-facing camera is almost always mounted to or near the windshield. Replacing the glass moves that camera's reference point by a fraction of a degree — enough to throw off the system unless it's recalibrated. We perform static or dynamic calibration (per the manufacturer's procedure for your specific make and model) immediately after every ADAS-equipped windshield replacement, and it's included on the same written estimate.

Side and rear glass

Beyond windshields, we replace door glass, quarter glass, and rear windshields — including vehicles with embedded defrost elements, antennas, or privacy tint. We match factory tint and glass thickness so the replacement looks and functions like the original.

Insurance and glass claims

Most Maryland comprehensive policies cover glass replacement, and some carriers waive the deductible entirely for windshield-only claims. Bring us your claim number and we'll verify your coverage, handle direct billing, and make sure any required calibration is included in the claim — not left off as a surprise out-of-pocket cost.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need ADAS calibration after windshield replacement?

If your vehicle has a forward-facing camera for lane keep assist, forward collision warning, or automatic emergency braking — common on most vehicles from the last decade — yes. The camera's reference point shifts when the glass is replaced and needs to be recalibrated to the manufacturer's spec.

Will my insurance cover windshield replacement?

Most comprehensive policies cover glass damage, and some Maryland carriers waive the deductible for windshield-only claims. We verify your specific coverage before starting.

How long until I can drive after a windshield replacement?

We follow the adhesive manufacturer's safe-drive-away time, typically 30 minutes to a few hours depending on the urethane and weather conditions. We'll tell you the exact time before you leave.

Can a cracked windshield be repaired instead of replaced?

Small chips and short cracks outside the driver's direct line of sight can often be repaired rather than replaced, which is faster and usually cheaper. We'll assess the damage and give you an honest recommendation.

Do you replace side and rear glass too?

Yes — door glass, quarter glass, and rear windshields, including glass with defrost elements, antennas, and factory tint.

Is OEM glass required, or can aftermarket glass work?

OEM-equivalent glass meeting DOT and ANSI safety standards works well for most vehicles. For vehicles with acoustic glass, HUD displays, or rain sensors built into the glass, we match the original specification so those features keep working correctly.
